VLC for iOS gets split-screen, Touch ID support and more

VLC for iOS

One of the most popular third-party music player apps, VLC for iOS has recently been updated to add new features. While the change log is quite long with tidbits about what’s new and improved, the most notable new feature for iPad users is the inclusion of support for Split-Screen features. So now tablet users will be able to enjoy their favorite videos on VLC while browsing the web or doing any other task simultaneously. In addition to that the update also brings Touch ID support for the media player, meaning you will now be able to protect your audio and video collection with fingerprint scan. This particular feature should be available on all devices that feature a Touch ID sensor including models of iPhone and iPad.

In addition to that VLC 2.7.0 has dropped support for iOS 6, adds support for SMB file sharing, system wide search, ability for users to configure playback continuation, change gestures and more. You can download the app for free or check out the full change log at the App Store using the link below.

  1. This is not even an Alpha version :

VLC is locking access to files with a “pass code” requirement no one has setup.
    Duplicating files
    UPNP problems

    SMB problems
    Apple watch problems..
