How To Remove Touch Bar Data From MacBook Pro Before Selling It

If you own a MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar, then we have got an important guide for you. The Touch Bar equipped MacBook is different from normal Macs as it stores Touch Bar and Touch ID data in the secure enclave. According to Apple this data is not erased when you format your Mac using a third-party utility or using the Target disk mode methods. If you want to make sure the Touch Bar related data is deleted from your machine, then there are a few extra steps that you need to perform.

Performing these steps is not mandatory if you are simply reinstalling macOS on your machine or formatting it for yourself. However it is a good idea to perform these steps if you are going to giveaway the MacBook Pro or plan to sell it.
