TypeStatus 2 comes to iOS 9, puts typing and read reports in the status bar

TypeStatus 2 iOS 9

We are sure many of you would already be familiar with the TypeStatus 2 tweak, which has been around for years and has been covered by us at several occasions. Now TypeStatus 2 has been updated in Cydia, which brings the same feature to iOS 9 powered devices. For those of you who are not familiar with TypeStatus 2, this tweak puts the read and typing reports of iMessage in the status bar of the device. This functionality allows users to know whether someone has read their message or has started typing a reply, no matter which part of the operating system they are using currently.

From Settings users can choose the display duration for the TypeStatus to appear, turn off alerts for typing or reading, turn off the tweak when the Messages app is opened etc. Another cool feature of this tweak allows users to configure the tweak to only show a small icon in the status bar to indicate the typing and read reports or take the whole status bar, as shown in the screenshot above. The icon appears as is shown in the image below.

You can download the TypeStatus 2 tweak from Cydia, where it is available for free. It works with iOS 9, iOS 8 and iOS 7. A separate version is also available for older operating system versions.
