macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Released With New Emojis, Performance Improvements And Bug Fixes

One day after releasing iOS 10.2, tvOS 10.2 and watchOS 3.1.1 Apple has now released macOS 10.12.2 software update. The update that is released for all models of the Mac lineup brings a number of new changes to the operating system. This includes the addition of Unicode 9 Emoji, which also made its debut on iOS and watchOS yesterday. In addition to the new emojis this release also brings four new wallpapers to the Mac from the new MacBook Pro promotional images.

In addition to the changes above macOS 10.12.2 also brings a number of improvements that will make the experience of using macOS better for the users. This includes a better setup and reliability of Auto Unlock feature, which lets users unlock their Macs without entering password when they are wearing their Apple Watch. The update adds Chinese trackpad handwriting button to the Touch Bar Control Strip. Speaking of Touch Bar, users will now be able to take screenshots of the Touch Bar using the Grab app or through Cmd+Shift+6 keys.

Different issues with MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar and Graphics have also been fixed. A bug that caused System Integrity Protection to get disabled on the new MacBook Pros has also been fixed. Other issues that have been fixed in this release include issue related to delivery of Optimized Storage alerts, issue of incoming mail not showing up in Mail app when using MS Exchange account, issue that prevented installation of Safari Extension downloaded from places other than Safari Extension Gallery etc. Several performance improvements related to Photos, Bluetooth headphones, iCloud Desktop and Documents opt-out experience have been made in this update.
