PSA: You Can Still Install iOS 13.5 And Jailbreak But For A Limited Time

Unc0ver iOS 13.5 Jailbreak How to

It didn’t long for Apple to release iOS 13.5.1 and kill the exploit that was used in iOS 13.5 jailbreak. Apple’s response time was impressive as well considering the jailbreak was based on 0-day exploit and Apple only came to know about it after unc0ver was released to public.

Even though it has been over two days since the release of iOS 13.5.1, Apple is still signing iOS 13.5. This essentially means iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 installations are still possible.

Currently iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users can update or downgrade to iOS 13.5 and then jailbreak their devices using unc0ver. However this signing window is open temporarily and Apple will close it sooner or later.

Update: Apple has stopped signing iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5. You can no longer upgrade or downgrade your device to iOS 13.5.

If we take past experience as an indication, then it takes Apple 1 to 2 weeks to close signing window for an outdated version of iOS. Although it is worth mentioning that Apple has reduced the time it allows signing window for older iOS versions in the recent past.

Once the signing window is closed iOS and iPadOS users will no longer be able to install iOS 13.5 or iPadOS 13.5, and lose the chance of jailbreaking their device.

So to reiterate, if you have not jailbroken your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch but plan to do so we advise you to update your device to iOS 13.5 right now. You can update to iOS 13.5 from an older version of iOS 13 or even iOS 12 using this guide.

In case you have already installed iOS 13.5.1 or iOS 13.5.5 beta on your device, then you can still downgrade to iOS 13.5 and then jailbreak. Steps for both of these processes are given below.

Note: This guide is important for users of new iPhones (those released after iPhone X). iPhone X and older devices have a lifetime jailbreak thanks to the checkm8 exploit. These devices can be jailbroken even on iOS 13.5.1 using checkra1n tool.

Update: Apple has stopped signing iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5. You can no longer upgrade or downgrade your device to iOS 13.5.
