If your iOS 13 powered iPhone or iPad is jailbroken with checkra1n and Cydia has suddenly stopped working, then we’re going to help you in this post. As you may already know checkra1n is a semi-tethered jailbreak, which means every time you reboot your jailbroken iPhone, Cydia and tweaks stop working.
In order to get the jailbreak, Cydia and installed tweaks working once again you have to perform the jailbreak process one more time. Due to Semi-tethered state of the checkra1n jailbreak you are supposed to perform these steps every time your iPhone restarts by itself or by you. Good thing is even when your iPhone or iPad’s jailbreak is not activated, you can still use stock iOS and all of its functions on it without interruptions. Only thing that does not work is jailbreak and things related to it.

How to re-jailbreak iPhone or iPad with checkra1n
Follow these steps if Cydia has stopped working and jailbreak tweaks no longer work on your device.
Step 1: Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your Mac using a USB cable.
Step 2: Close iTunes or Finder when it opens after you plug-in your device and launch checkra1n utility.
Step 3: Click on the Start button and follow the on-screen instructions to put your iOS device in DFU mode. Steps for this vary based on the device you have so read on-screen instructions.
Tip: If you are stuck at DFU phase of the jailbreak process, then make sure you are using a USB-A Lightning cable and not a USB-C cable.
Step 4: Once checkra1n utility is finished with the re-jailbreak process unlock your iPhone and launch Cydia.
If Cydia works like normal then congratulations, the jailbreak has been re-activated on your device. Once this has happened all of the tweaks that you had installed on your iPhone will also start working again.
This is how you can fix Cydia and tweaks not working issue and get the jailbroken status of your iPhone back to normal. Now that you are jailbroken, we recommend that you check out our latest coverage of iOS 13 tweaks.
While the re-jailbreak process for the semi-tethered checkra1n jailbreak is easy, it would have been even more convenient if users had the ability to re-activate the jailbreak using the on-device app. We have seen this in the case of unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 12, which allowed users to re-jailbreak their device right after a reboot by launching the on-device unc0ver app. We hope future versions of checkra1n will also offer this feature and make the re-jailbreaking process simpler for users.
checkra1n release for Windows and Linux
Luca Todesco and his team have not released checkra1n for Windows and Linux yet, as the jailbreak tool is only available on macOS. However team checkra1n has stated that they are ‘working hard’ on Windows and Linux version and will be able to release it ‘son’ or soon.
We are working hard on the Windows and Linux versions, but as always, the official ETA is son.
