Turn Off Haptic Feedbacks For System Controls And Interactions On iPhone 7

If you upgraded to iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus from an earlier model, then you would have noticed that the device gives haptic feedbacks for many system controls and interactions. These haptics are new to the iPhone and seem to be exclusively available on the newest models. Perhaps this is because iPhone 7 features a newer taptic engine. The haptics can be felt when accessing the notification center, control center, scrolling through the music library using the alphabetic slider, performing pull to refresh, switches and many more.

I personally like the new haptics that are played for system controls and interactions, however Apple knew that some users might feel otherwise. So it added a toggle in the Settings app that allows users to turn off or on System Haptics as they like. Read on to learn about where you can find the System Haptics toggle in case you want to turn off the haptic feedbacks for system controls.

  • Open the Settings app and tap on Sounds & Haptics.
  • Notice that this menu option is called Sounds & Haptics, unlike previous iPhone models where it is just listed as ‘Sounds‘.
  • On the Sounds & Haptics page scroll down and turn off the System Haptics toggle if you want to disable the feedbacks. In case you want to turn them back on simply flip it back on.
