In this step-by-step guide, you will learn how to put your iPhone 17 in Recovery Mode and solve any software issues you are facing with your device.

Recovery Mode is a special mode in iOS that lets you do a fresh install of iOS through restore. It also lets you perform an iOS update through your computer without deleting any data stored on it.

The Recovery Mode is useful when you need to restore your iPhone, reinstall iOS, or fix issues like a device stuck on the Apple logo, iPhone frozen or unresponsive, or after a failed update.

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB-C cable.
  2. Next, press and quickly release the Volume Up button.

    If you have changed your mind and want to exit the Recovery Mode without updating or restoring iOS, then follow these steps.

    1. Disconnect your iPhone from your computer.
    2. Press and hold the Side button until the screen goes black.
    3. Let go of the Side button and then press and hold it once again until the Apple logo appears.

    After you see the Apple logo, you can let go of the side button, and your device should boot up like normal.
