In iOS 26, Apple allows users to change the audio input source. This means you can choose whether you want your iPhone to input audio from your AirPods, its own microphone, or external microphones. This is super useful for creators as well as normal users.

Change Audio Input Source

You can easily change the audio input device of your iPhone by following these steps.

From Settings:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on the Sounds & Haptics option.
  2. Here, tap on the Input option.
  3. Then, finally, on the next screen, select the input device you want your iPhone to get audio from.
  4. After you have selected your desired option, you can exit the Settings app. 

From Control Center:

There’s another quicker way as well. You can also change the audio source from the Control Center.

  1. Simply access the Control Centre and tap on the audio controls from the top. (They will show up when you are in an audio app like Voice Memos.)
  2. Next, tap on the Input option and choose your desired input source.

Whichever option you select, iOS will start taking Audio input from that source. This applies to voice memos and other apps as well.
