Fix Apps Not Downloading
Fix 1: Check if the internet is working
You cannot download apps without the Internet. A weak or unstable Internet connection can prevent apps from downloading. Check if you have a working internet connection by opening Safari or any other web browser and opening a website. If the website loads properly, then the Internet is working.
You can also try switching to a different Wi-Fi network or Cellular Data and download apps again. Sometimes, network issues can prevent you from downloading apps.
Fix 2: Check for restrictions
Does your iPhone have restrictions on downloading apps? You can check this by going to Settings -> Screen Time -> Content & Privacy Restrictions. Here, tap on App Downloads and make sure Allow is selected.
If you are using Cellular Data to download apps, make sure your iPhone is allowed to do so. For this, go to Settings -> Apps -> App Store and under Cellular Data tap on App Downloads. On the next page, make sure ‘Always Allow’ is selected.
Fix 3: Check your payment method
Apple requires users to have a valid payment method before they can download apps, even the free ones. Make sure your card isn’t expired or declined by going to Settings -> Tap on your name at the top -> Payment & Shipping. On the next page, verify that your card is working.
Fix 4: Restart iPhone
A quick restart can take care of software glitches. Press and hold the Volume Up and Side buttons simultaneously and slide to power off. Wait for 10 seconds and turn the device back on.
Fix 5: Sign out of Apple ID and sign back in
A fix that works more often than not is signing into your Apple ID and signing back out. You can do this by going to Settings -> Tap on your name at the top -> Sign Out. Make sure to select the Sign Out But Don’t Erase option if prompted. After signing out, sign back in following the same steps.
One of these fixes should fix apps not downloading issue with your iPhone, and the App Store should start working again. If the problem is not fixed, then the issue might be caused by the App Store being down or having server issues. You can check this by going to Apple’s system status website.
