Do you know you can take CarPlay screenshots? Most people think Apple does not allow users to take CarPlay screenshots, however, they are mistaken. It is actually quite easy to take a screenshot of what’s on your CarPlay screen, and in this guide, we will show you exactly how to do it.
You can take CarPlay screenshots when your iPhone is connected to the Car’s infotainment system. It works with both wireless and wired connections.
If you are running iOS 26 or later, then perform these steps first.
- Open Settings and go to General.
- Here, tap on Screen Capture.
- Turn on the toggle for CarPlay Screenshots.
Once iPhone is connected and CarPlay is working, take a screenshot on your iPhone like normal.
- On Face ID iPhones, press the Volume Up and Side buttons simultaneously.
- On Home button-equipped iPhones, press the Side button and Home Button together.
As your iPhone captures its own screen, it will also take a screenshot of the CarPlay screen.
You will also be able to markup both iPhone and CarPlay screenshots. Once the screenshots are taken, they can be found in the Photos app.
