iPhone has a rotation lock feature that allows users to prevent the screen orientation from rotating sideways automatically when you turn your device to landscape.

Sometimes the automatic rotation can be annoying. If you want to turn it off, then you can easily do so from the Control Center.

In this guide, you will find instructions on how to enable or disable the Auto Screen Rotation and turn on orientation lock on the iPhone 17.

Enable or disable Auto Screen Rotation

  1. Swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center.
  2. Here, find the Rotation Lock button. It’s the one that features a lock with a circular arrow around it.
  3. To enable auto-rotation, simply tap the icon to turn it gray.
  4. To disable auto-rotation, tap it again to turn it red, locking your screen in portrait mode.

If you don’t see the icon on your device’s Control Center, then don’t worry. You can quickly add it by long-pressing in an empty area on the Control Center. Then tap on Add a control option.

And finally, search for ‘Orientation Lock’ and add this control.

That’s it, this is how easy it is to enable or disable the Auto Screen Rotation feature on iPhone 17. You can also follow these steps on iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air.
