Want to put your iPhone in silent mode? In this guide, we have shared three different ways that you can use to put an iPhone 17 in Silent mode.
Whether you have an iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, or iPhone 17 Pro Max, you can use this guide to turn on Silent Mode on your device and prevent it from ringing.
Turn on Silent Mode from Control Center
Let’s start with the Control Center method, as it is fast and convenient.
- Access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap on the Bell button to enable the Silent mode.
- Tap on it again to disable Silent mode.
If you don’t see the Bell icon on your device’s Control Center, then you can quickly add it by accessing the Control Center. Here, long-press on an empty area and then tap on Add a Control option from the bottom.
Next, search for Silent mode and add it to your device.
Turn on Silent Mode with the Action Button
You can enable the Silent Mode using the Action button located on the left side of your device. It is found right above the Volume buttons.
- Open Settings and go to the Action Button option.
- Here, swipe left or right and select the Silent Mode option.
- Now press and hold the Action button to put the device in Silent Mode.
- Press and hold the button again to exit Silent Mode.
Turn on Silent Mode from Settings
You also have the option to toggle Silent Mode from the Settings app. Here’s how you can do it.
- Open Settings and go to Sounds & Haptics.
- On the next page, return to the toggle for Silent Mode.
- Disable the same toggle to turn off Silent Mode.
On the Sounds & Haptics page, you can also fine-tune the Silent Mode. You can change settings like show or hide the Silent mode icon from the status bar, control vibration, whether your iPhone vibrates while in silent mode, and more.
