In this guide, we have shared instructions on how you can turn on vibrations for the Messages app and have your iPhone vibrate as soon as a new text arrives.
Getting haptic feedback for text messages and iMessages is useful, as you learn that a new message has arrived even when your device is in silent mode and in your pocket.
Follow these steps to turn this feature on.
Turn on vibrations for Messages
- Launch the Settings app, scroll down, and tap on Apps.
- From the list of apps, find and tap on Messages.
- Inside the Messages settings, tap on Notifications.
- Here, tap on the Sounds option.
- Next, tap on the Haptics option.
- Finally, select a Haptic for the Messages app.
Once you have selected the Haptics option, your iPhone will give you vibration feedback along with a notification sound, or it will vibrate when your device is in Silent mode whenever a new text arrives.
This is super useful if you keep your iPhone silent or in your pocket and want to know as soon as a new message arrives.
