Apple has released iOS 18.4 release candidate and it is now available for download. The update has been released to developers and public beta testers who are testing the upcoming iOS release.
Update 03-28-2025: As we wait for the release of iOS 18.4 to the public, Apple has today released an updated build of the iOS 18.4 RC that was released earlier this week. The first release of iOS 18.4 RC carried a build number of 22E239, while the revised build that is now available for download has a build number of 22E240. If you are running iOS 18.4 RC or iOS 18.4 beta, then you can go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and download the revised iOS 18.4 RC build over the air.
With today’s release of iOS 18.4 RC, it is likely that Apple will release iOS 18.4 for everyone next week.
In addition to iOS 18.4 RC, Apple has also released iPadOS 18.4 RC, macOS Sequoia 15.4 RC, watchOS 11.4 RC, visionOS 2.4 RC, tvOS 18.4, and HomePod 18.4.
iOS 18.4 is a major release that brings several changes to iPhones and iPads. This includes a change to Apple CarPlay, a new Apple News+ Food recipes service, Priority Notifications feature, and support for Apple Intelligence in various languages including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified). Apple Intelligence will also support localized English for India and Singapore.
With iOS 18.4 Apple has added Visual Intelligence features for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Previously the feature was limited to the iPhone 16 lineup.
