Freyr tweak lets you check weather forecast right on app icon

Freyr tweak

For years iOS users have asked for a way that would enable them to take a quick glance at the weather forecast of their city without launching the Weather application. So far Apple has avoided adding a live icon to the Weather app similar to the Clock app, which changes to show the information to the user. A new Cydia tweak called Freyr attempts to solve this problem by adding a nice drop down to the stock Weather app’s icon that tells forecast to the user right on the homescreen.

The tweak shows the weather of upcoming hours and comes with multiple customization options that give full control in the hands of the user regarding its appearance and functionality. From Settings users can choose how many hours the tweak should show forecast for, you can choose a maximum of 6. If you don’t want the tweak to display the hourly forecast then you can also choose the daily forecast option. Another option allows users to choose between Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Using Freyr is very easy and quick. To invoke it all you have to do is swipe down on the Weather app’s icon to see the forecast. You can change the look of the Freyr drop down by selecting dark or white blur effect.

Freyr tweak is available in Cydia for $0.99. The tweak is part of the TweakBattles, which means money collected by the sales will be donated to a charity.
