How to Receive AirDrop From Someone Not In Your Contact List

Receive AirDrop from everyone

Are you looking for ways to send and receive AirDrop from someone who is not in your iPhone’s contacts list? Then this guide is for you.

It is possible to get AirDrop transfers from someone you have just met, without even adding them as a contact on your device. Someone nearby can send you a photo, video, documents, and more if you follow a simple step.

Send and receive AirDrop from everyone

  1. Access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner.
  2. Tap on the network section (the widget with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controls).
  3. After the menu expands long long-press on the AirDrop icon.
  4. Finally, select the ‘Everyone for 10 Minutes’ option.

This will allow your iPhone to receive AirDrop transfers from everyone for the next 10 minutes. When someone tries to send you an AirDrop, you will get a pop-up with the Accept or Decline options.

Tap accept and let the transfer complete. After it is done, it will instantly appear in the right apps. For example, the photos and videos will be saved in the Photos app, while documents will be saved in the Preview app.
