Apple has introduced a new Settings in iOS 26.1 that will allow users to tone down the Liquid Glass design on their devices. In addition to iOS, Apple has also added the new Tinted option for iPadOS 26 and macOS 26.
The new option is found under Display & Brightness section of the Settings app. Here users will get a new option called Liquid Glass, which allows them to select between Clear and Tinted appearance options.
The Tinted option when selected will make the Liquid Glass look more opaque.
The description for the new option reads “Choose your preferred look for Liquid Glass. Clear is more transparent, revealing the content beneath. Tinted increases opacity and adds more contrast.”
On Macs users can find the new Tinted option for Liquid Glass under System Settings -> Appearence.
Apple is currently beta testing iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1 and macOS 26.1. All of these are expected to be released for public by next week.
