In this tutorial, we have shared instructions on how to update stored passwords on your iPhone or iPad. iOS has a built-in password management feature that stores passwords for websites and apps and allows users to autofill passwords with a Face ID or Touch ID scan.

Ever since the release of iOS 18, passwords have been stored inside the Passwords app.

If you have recently changed the password of an account and you want to update its password on your iPhone’s Passwords app, so that the correct password is entered whenever you use the Autofill Password featured, then keep reading.

  1. Start by launching the Passwords app and authenticate with Face ID.
  2. Tap on the All option.
  3. On the next screen find the website or app you want to update the password for and tap on it.
  4. Next, tap on the Edit button from the top right corner.
  5. Tap on your current password and edit it with a new password.
  6. Finally, tap on the Save button to save the new password to the Passwords app.
