In this guide, you will learn how to connect your Apple Watch to Wi-Fi so it has access to the Internet on its own, even when your iPhone isn’t nearby.

Apple Watch can connect to Wi-Fi and stay updated without an iPhone. You can connect to your trusted Wi-Fi network from Settings. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Press the Digital Crown button to access the Home Screen.
  2. Find and tap on the Settings icon. It’s the one with the grey gear icon.
  3. Here, scroll down and tap on the Wi-Fi option.
  4. After the Apple Watch has scanned available Wi-Fi networks, tap on your Wi-Fi network.
  5. The network should connect instantly. If it requires a password, then enter it.
  6. After connecting to the Wi-Fi network, tap on its name again from the Wi-Fi screen and enable the toggle for Auto-Join, so it connects automatically every time.

You can check the Wi-Fi status of your device from the Control Center (press the side button to access it). If the Wi-Fi icon is blue, then Wi-Fi is connected.

That’s it, this is how you can connect to Wi-Fi on your Apple Watch and keep it updated even when your iPhone isn’t nearby.
