Just got an iPhone 17 and need to figure out how to delete apps on it? In this guide, we have shared 3 easy ways to delete apps from an iPhone.
Whether you want to free up storage, remove clutter from your device’s home screen, or just want to remove apps you no longer use, follow the steps shared below.
Delete Apps on iPhone 17
Delete from Home Screen
To delete an app right from the home screen, simply follow these steps.
- Find the app’s icon that you want to delete.
- Long-press on its icon to reveal the icon menu.
- From the options, tap on the Remove App option.
- Now tap on Delete App and confirm by tapping on Delete.
You can also remove the app icon from the home screen while still keeping it installed. Just select the ‘Remove from Home Screen’ option in step 3.
When you do this, the app’s icon will be moved to the App Library section, which can be accessed by swiping to the last page of the home screen.
Delete from App Library
If you want to delete an app that is not on the home screen and is stored on the App Library, then follow these steps.
- Swipe left on the home screen to reach the App Library page.
- Find the app’s icon that you want to delete. You can use the search feature at the top.
- Tap and hold on its name to reveal the menu.
- Tap on the Delete App option and confirm by tapping on Delete.
Delete from Settings (and check size)
You can also delete apps from the Settings app. You can also check the size of the app and find out how much storage each one is using.
- Open the Settings app and tap on General.
- Now tap on iPhone Storage.
- Here you will find a list of apps and how much storage each one is using. Tap on the app you wish to delete.
- On the next page, tap on the Delete app option.
You can also use the Offload App feature, which lets you remove the app but keep its data on the iPhone, so you can quickly download and use it at a later time. This is useful when you are running low on storage and want to quickly make up storage space on your device.
