After updating your iPhone to iOS 18.2, you might have noticed that the Mail app now shows contact photos in your inbox. These contact photos for users and businesses make it easier for you to identify senders at a glance.

While this is a useful feature it can also get annoying for those who prefer the minimalistic look of the Mail app or don’t want to see placeholder images for users and businesses that are not identified.

The good news is you can easily turn off the profile pictures inside the Mail app and bring the old look of the app back.

Don’t like the new iOS 18.2 changes in the Mail app? Here’s how to turn off Mail Categories feature.

Hide Contact Photos In Mail

  1. Launch Settings and go to the Apps section.
  2. From there find and tap on the Mail option to access its settings.
  3. Under the section labeled Message List find the Show Contact Photos toggle.
  4. Turn this toggle off.

After you have turned off the toggle, the Contact Photos will disappear from your inbox and you will be able to enjoy a tidier and simpler-looking Mail app.
