Screen recording is a useful feature that allows you to capture gameplay, record tutorials, and do voiceovers over what’s happening on your device.
When you perform screen recording, the recorded video is saved to the Photos app, where you can watch it and share it with others.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps of screen recording on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, both with and without microphone audio.
Screen Record on iPhone 16
- Access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner.
- If you don’t see the Screen Recording button already, add it by tapping on the ‘+‘ button from the top left corner, tapping on Add a Control, and searching for Screen Recording.
- Now tap on the Screen Recording button. This will initiate a 3-second timer.
- Exit the Control Center before the timer runs out and perform the actions that you want to record.
- After you are done recording tap on the red recording button from the Dynamic Island of the device and then tap on the Stop Recording button.
After you tap on the Stop Recording button, your screen recording will be saved in the Photos app, where you can watch it and share it with others.
Screen Record with Microphone Audio
By default, screen recording only captures the visuals from your screen. However, you can easily enable microphone audio to add narration or capture surrounding sound during your recording.
- Open the Control Center.
- Long press on the Screen Recording button.
- Tap the Microphone icon to toggle the audio on or off. When the microphone icon is red, it means the audio will be recorded along with the screen.
