The Focus Filters feature, found hidden inside the Focus and Do Not Disturb mode settings, allows users to remove distractions from apps when a focus mode is activated.
It lets users disable or hide certain areas of apps to reduce distractions. For example, you can hide certain calendars in Calendar app, certain mailboxes in Mail, filter conversations in Messages, access Safari Tab Groups, filter Calls by SIM, and more.
You can also customize system settings when a focus turns on. This includes automatically turning on or off Always On Display, Dark Mode, Low Power Mode, and Silent Mode.
Turn on Focus Filters on iPhone
- Launch the Settings app and tap on Focus.
- Choose a Focus mode like Work, Personal, or create a new one.
- Scroll down and find a section called Focus Filters.
- Tap on Add Filter option.
- Tap on the filter you want to add. Repeat to add other filters.
That’s it. Now, when you activate this focus mode, your chosen filter will be applied on your device.
With Focus Filters, you can do things like:

- Open a specific Safari tab group
