Apple has released iOS 11.2.1 software update for all devices and it is now available for download. The update has been released to fix the issue affecting HomeKit and the Home app. Last week Apple disabled remote access feature from server side in order to address the vulnerability that could allow unauthorized access to the app.
The issue was serious since it could allow hackers to interact with user’s HomeKit enabled devices, including door locks. After fixing the vulnerability in this update Apple has reinstated the remote access for shared HomeKit users, who can now use Home kit remotely.
You can update to iOS 11.2.1, which is a small update and just under 100MB on most devices. You can update over-the-air, through iTunes or using the direct IPSW links below.
