Apple has announced the new M1 Pro and M1 Max powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pros come with a completely new design that offers more ports, an edge to edge Liquid Retina XDR display with camera notch, ProMotion technology and more.
Both MacBook Pros feature a new design and feature the Liquid Retina XDR display. The new display goes up to 1000 nits brightness and features the same mini-LED technology that is found on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which means it can offer darker blacks when compared with LCD display.
Apple has also included the 120Hz ProMotion Refresh Rate technology to the MacBook Pros that delivers a smoother user experience when scrolling through content.
Apple’s new MacBook Pros feature new chips that can be configured to up to 10-core CPU and 32-Core GPU and 64GB of unified memory.
The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are capable of offering up to 70 percent faster CPU performance than M1 chip. The GPU is 4 times faster than the one in M1 chip. The new chips introduce system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture for the first time that offer fast unified memory and incredible power efficiency.
M1 Pro chip offers 200GB/s of memory bandwidth with support for up to 32GB unified memory. M1 Max chip on the other hand can deliver up to 400GB/s of memory bandwidth, which is essentially double than M1 Pro and 6 times more than M1. M1 Max supports up to 64GB of unified memory.

Here is how the 14-inch MacBook pro performs with GPUs found in M1 Pro and M1 Max.
Up to 9.2x faster 4K render in Final Cut Pro with M1 Pro, and up to 13.4x faster with M1 Max.
Up to 5.6x faster combined vector and raster GPU performance in Affinity Photo with M1 Pro, and up to 8.5x faster with M1 Max.
Up to 3.6x faster effect render in Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio with M1 Pro, and up to 5x faster with M1 Max.

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros now offer more ports for better connectivity. Both models are equipped with SDXC card slot, HDMI port, 3 thunderbolt 4 ports and a MagSafe 3 port for charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack can also be found on the new machines.
For faster connectivity MacBook Pros feature Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Apple has finally added a 1080p FaceTime HD camera to the MacBook Pros, allowing them to offer better resolution and better low light performance when video calling. Both MacBook Pros are also equipped with Apple’s high fidelity 6 speaker sound system and studio quality microphones.
The M1 Pro MacBook with 14-inch display starts at $1,999 whereas the 16-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro starts at $2,499. The machines are now available for order and will be available in stores on October 26.
