Apple has released iOS 26.5.1 software update for iPhone users and it is now available for download. The update has been released for iPhone 17 lineup only and brings an important bug fix for these devices.
According to the update’s release notes, iOS 26.5.1 solves the issue that caused iPhone 17 devices to not charge through a wired charger when their battery was nearly drained.
The update is available on iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air. You can head over to the Software Update section of your device to download and install the update.
iOS 26.5.1 is not available on other iPhone models, so if you have previous generation iPhones such as iPhone 16, iPhone 15 or older, then you would not see this release in the Settings app.
You can also download the iOS 26.5.1 IPSW for your iPhone models using the iOS 26.5.1 IPSW files linked below and manually install it using iTunes or Finder.
Apple has also released macOS 26.5.1 with an important fix for enterprise users. The bug, which has been fixed in this release caused M5 chip powered devices to unexpectedly shutdown when using content filtering network extensions.
