Apple Seeds iOS 17.2 And iPadOS 17.2 Release Candidates Along With macOS 14.2 RC

Apple has released iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2 Release Candidates and they are now available for download to beta testers. With today’s Release Candidate, we can certainly say that the public release of iOS 17.2 is right around the corner and could happen as early as next week.

Along with iOS 17.2 RC Apple has also seeded macOS Sonama 14.2 Release Candidate, watchOS 10.2 Release Candidate, and tvOS 17.2 Release Candidate. Beta testers can now download all of these on their devices over the air.

The build numbers for today’s releases are as follows.

  • iOS 17.2 RC – 21C62
  • iPadOS 17.2 – 21C62
  • macOS 14.2 Release Candidate – 23C63
  • watchOS 10.2 Release Candidate – 21S364
  • tvOS 17.2 Release Candidate – 21K364

iOS 17.2 is a major update that brings several new changes to iPhones and iPads. With this update, Apple has added the Journal app that was announced at WWDC 2023 but was missing from iOS 17.0.

In addition, Apple has added new Weather widgets for Daily Forecast, Sunrise & Sunset, and Details on both iOS and macOS.

Other changes introduced in iOS 17.2 include Qi 2 Wireless Charging support for iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 devices, Telephoto camera improvements for iPhone 15 Pro, new Translate option for Action button, Spatial Video support for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max that will let users record Spatial Video footage for upcoming Apple Vision pro, Messages app improvements, and bug fixes. The Books app has also received a new fast fade page turn animation.
