Apple Seeds iOS 26.1 Beta to Developers – What’s Changed

One week after the release of iOS 26.0, Apple has today seeded iOS 26.1 Developer Beta, and it is now available for download. Anyone who is a registered Apple Developer can now download iOS 26.1 on his or her devices for testing.

Apple has released iOS 26.1 Beta 1 while we wait for the company to release iOS 26.0.1 with minor bug fixes and improvements.

Along with iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 betas, Apple has also released developer betas for macOS Tahoe 26.1, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and visionOS 26.1.

To install iOS 26.1 Beta, you can go to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates and select iOS 26 Beta. Then return to the Software Update page and install iOS 26.1. The beta is available on all iOS 26-supported devices. The build number for this release is 23B5044l.

Changes in iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 1

While iOS 26 was packed with big features, iOS 26.1 is expected to be a minor update focusing on improving performance and bug fixes.

We will update this post if any changes are found in iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 1.

Update: iOS 26.1 brings a number of noticeable changes to iPhones. Here are a few of them.

  • The phone keypad buttons now feature the Liquid Glass design.
  • iOS 26.1 brings new AirPods Live Translation languages, including Chinese (Mandarin Traditional and Simplified), Japanese, Italian, and Korean.
  • New Apple Intelligence languages are now rolling out. These include Dutch, Danish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (traditional), and Vietnamese.
  • Apple Music app lets users switch songs by swiping on the Now Playing music player. Users can swipe on the music player left or right to go to the previous or next song.
  • Photos app features a new slider for scrubbing through videos, while the navigation bar of the app now features a more frosted design.
  • The ‘Bottom’ style of the Safari tab bar is now wider around the edges.
