As it was expected, Apple has released the iOS 7.1.2 software update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and is now available for download. The update has been released through over-the-air and can also be downloaded through iTunes. It is an update of a minor sort that brings improvements for iBeacon, several bug fixes and corrections for issues in the operating system. The build number for this release is 11D257 and it is available for all iOS 7 compatible devices.
Here’s the change log for iOS 7.1.2.
- Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability
- Fixes a bug with data transfer for some 3rd party accessories, including bar code scanners
- Corrects an issue with data protection class of Mail attachments
It goes without saying that if you are using Pangu jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 or any other jailbreak on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch then you should stay away from this release until further notice. It would be interesting to see if Apple has fixed the vulnerability that is being used in Pangu jailbreak or not, which is very unlikely since the tool was just released a few days ago. If the vulnerabilities are still there than it is just a matter of time before iOS 7.1.2 jailbreak is released by Pangu team.
Update: iOS 7.1.2 is jailbreak safe and can be jailbroken using the existing Pangu tool. Here’s our full guide on how to jailbreak iOS 7.1.2 it.
Pangu still works fine in 7.1.2
