In this guide, we will show you how to enable or disable the Slide to Stop gesture that appears on the alarm screen.
In iOS 26.1 or later, Apple has introduced a new Slide to Stop gesture, which is reminiscent of the classic slide to unlock gesture.
It allows users to turn off an alarm by sliding their finger across a slider. This new gesture has been added to prevent users from accidentally turning off their alarms by tapping on Stop instead of Snooze.
However, it is still possible to turn off the Slide to Stop gesture and get the Stop button back on the alarm screen.
Disable Slide to Stop Slider for Alarms
If you don’t like this new change and want to get the stop button back, then follow these steps.
- Launch the Settings app and go to the Accessibility section.
- Here, tap on the Touch option.
- Now scroll all the way down until you get to the Prefer Single-Touch Actions.
- This toggle lets you get rid of the sliding actions. Turn the toggle On to enable the Stop button for alarms, and get rid of the Slide to Stop gesture.
That’s it, this is how you can enable or disable the Slide to Stop gesture on iPhone alarms in iOS 26.1 or later.
