Along with the iOS 14 update for iPhone, Apple has also released watchOS 7 update for the Apple Watch and it is now available for download. watchOS 7.0 is available to users of all compatible devices and can be downloaded from iPhone’s Watch app.
watchOS 7.0 is a major update that brings a range of new features to the Apple Watch. Some of the new features that have been introduced in watchOS 7 include new watch faces, ability to share your favorite watch faces with friends and online, sleep tracking feature with the new Sleep app, new workout types, automatic hand washing detection and timer feature. Apple has also introduced the new Memoji app, Siri language translation and cycling directions features in watchOS 7.
In addition to this Apple has also introduced the new Family Setup feature that will enable parents to set up their kid’s Apple Watch with their iPhone and control what features they can have access to.
You can download the watchOS 7 update on your compatible Apple Watch by opening the Watch app on your iPhone and tapping on the My Watch tab from the bottom bar. Then tap on General -> Software Update and Download and Install update.
Once your iPhone has downloaded the update you need to put your Watch on the charger and make sure it has at least 50 percent battery left. You also need to make sure it is in range of your iPhone that is connected to Wi-Fi.
watchOS 7 is compatible with following Apple Watch models
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE
Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 will not be getting the watchOS 7 update.
