Apple has just released the awaited iOS 7.1 update for all supported devices and it is now available for download. The update can be downloaded from iTunes or over-the-air through settings. iOS 7.1 is the first major software update release since the arrival of iOS 7 and features some big changes and improvements. Some major UI tweaks have also been introduced in the update.
This update brings CarPlay support to all iOS devices that means users will now be able to use their devices on iOS-supported cars and perform functions related to Phone, Music, Maps, Messages, and 3rd-party audio apps. They can also use Siri through CarPlay. This update brings new features for Siri as well that includes new languages. iTunes Radio has also received Apple’s attention as features related to search, buying and subscribing have been added to the service.
In iOS 7.1 users will be able to see events in the months view and the Calendar app will automatically show holidays for certain countries. There are several other notable features as well that have been added in this update related to camera, iCloud keychain, TouchID and mail.
If you are an iPhone 4 user running iOS 7 then you will be glad to know that this update brings some performance improvements for your device.
Installing iOS 7.1 on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
You can easily update to this latest version of iOS 7.1 through OTA. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Software Update. You can also update through iTunes by clicking on ‘Check for updates’ button.
