WAQuickReply tweak adds iMessage like quick reply feature to WhatsApp

WAQuickReply tweak

We all love the quick reply functionality of the Messages app and miss it when using other messaging apps. Good news is iOS 9 will allow third-party apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and others to integrate the quick reply feature. If you cannot wait until the release of iOS 9, which will be in the fall and want to have the quick reply feature on WhatsApp right now, then install the WAQuickReply tweak from Cydia. The tweak adds a quick reply feature to WhatsApp that works exactly like the feature found on the Messages app.

Users can just pull down on a banner notification and type in the message without even opening the WhatApp application. In addition to that you can also reply to alerts from the lockscreen, for that all you have to do is swipe on the banner alert and tap on the ‘Reply’ button.

Perhaps the best feature of this tweak is that it works even when WhatsApp is not running in the background. So if a message arrives when WhatsApp is closed, you will still be able to reply to it using WAQuickReply. If you reply to a message using quick reply then the messages you have received will not be marked as ‘read’ in the app, which is convenient.

WAQuickReply is available in Cydia for $2.99. You will need to purchase a license from tweak’s preference page before you can start using it.
