Apple has added a new feature in Safari that displays Recent Searches whenever the user opens a new tab. This feature is available on devices that are running iOS 18.4 or later.
The Recent Searches section is useful as it allows users to quickly repeat their searches by tapping on them. However, this feature can also potentially harm your privacy as anyone will be able to see your recently performed searches right at the front of the Safari browser.
In this guide, we will share steps that will help you hide the recent searches section and stop them from appearing on the new tab screen.
Hide Recent Searches in Safari
- Open Settings and go to Apps.
- Search for Safari and tap on it.
- Under the Searches section turn off the toggle for Show Recent Searches.
After performing these easy steps the Recent Searches will no longer appear on Safari’s new tab screen.
If you want to have the Recent Searches section back, then you can follow these steps again and this time turn on the toggle for Show Recent Searches.
