With iOS 18 Apple brought a complete redesign to the Photos app. While some people love the changes introduced in this update, others seem to hate them.
One such feature that has received mixed reactions from iOS users is a picture and movie slideshow, that appears on top of albums and collections. These slideshows display photos and videos found inside an album or collection along with sound.
If you don’t like the top slideshow feature and want to turn it off, then you can easily do so by following the steps below.
- Launch the Photos app and open an album or a collection.
- Tap on the button with the up and down arrow found at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- From the menu that appears tap on ‘View Options’ and tap on the Movie Preview option to uncheck it.
The ability to hide the top slideshow is available in most collections. However, the only exception is the People & Pets collection, which does not give users the option to disable the top slideshow.
