Apple has released iOS 26 Public Beta and it is now available for download. With today’s release anyone can sign up to Apple’s Public Beta Program and install the iOS 26 Beta on their iPhone or iPad.

While iOS 26 Public Beta is expected to be more stable than the Developer Beta that Apple released last month, it is still a beta. Bugs are still expected, so you should avoid installing it on your main device.
Important: Make sure to create a backup of your device while you are still on iOS 18 as it will allow you to downgrade to iOS 18. Without an iOS 18 backup you won’t be able to restore your data on your iPhone after downgrading as iOS 26 backup won’t work with iOS 18.

- Betas are often buggy, so they should only be installed on test devices. Avoid installing public betas on devices you use for work or daily activities.
- iOS 26 public beta is available over the air, requiring an active Internet connection to download and install.
Install iOS 26 Public Beta
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can install iOS 26 Public Beta on your iPhone or iPad.
- On your iOS device, launch Safari and go to the Apple Beta website.
- Click on the Sign Up button and use your Apple Account to register with Apple’s Beta program.
- Now go to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates.
- Here find select the iOS 26 Public Beta option and return to the previous screen.
- Download the iOS 26 Public Beta when it becomes available.
In case you don’t see the iOS 26 Public Beta option, restart your iPhone or iPad and try again.
