In iOS 26, Apple has made it super easy to set custom ringtones on your iPhone. You can use any audio file as your device’s ringtone. While the process previously required you to export tracks from the GarageBand app, you can now do this easily through the Files app.
To set an audio file as your device’s ringtone, you need to have the following.
- The audio file should be in either MP3 or M4A audio file format.
- It should be less than 30 seconds long.
Set any audio file as custom ringtone on iPhone
Once you have made sure of this transfer it to your iPhone using AirDrop. You can also download the audio file from the web and save it in Files.
- Next, open the Files app and find the file you want to use as your iPhone’s Ringtone.
- Then long-press on the audio file.
- Tap on the Share button from the pop-up menu.
- If the file is MP3 or M4A and less than 30 seconds long, you will see the option to Use as Ringtone.
If you don’t see the Use as Ringtone option, then tap on the More button, then scroll down and tap on Edit Actions. After that, tap on the ‘+’ button next to the ‘Use as Ringtone’ option.
After this, simply tap on it and it will be set as your device’s ringtone right away. You will also be taken to the Ringtones section of the Settings app.
If you want to remove a ringtone from your iPhone, you can simply swipe left on it and tap on the Delete option.
That’s it, this is how you can easily set any sound as your iPhone’s ringtone in iOS 26’s Files app.
