The iPhone 17 lineup introduces Dual Capture, a new, powerful video recording feature that lets users record from both front and rear cameras simultaneously.
With Dual Capture, users can record what’s in front of them with rear cameras and capture their reaction through the front camera. This makes this feature perfect for vlogs, reactions, and behind-the-scenes style clips.
Previously, users had to rely on third-party apps for this sort of functionality. Now with Dual Capture built right into the Camera app, users of iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro can create dual-perspective videos easier than ever.
Use the Dual Capture feature on iPhone 17
You can easily use this feature through the stock Camera app. To record with Dual Capture, follow these steps.
- Launch the Camera app and switch to the Video Recording mode.
- Now tap on the menu button from the top right corner. It is made up of six dots.
- Now, from the menu that opens, tap on the Dual Capture option.
- This will bring up a small window for the front camera preview, while you will see the footage from the rear camera on the full screen.
- Just hit the record button to start recording. After you are done recording the video, simply hit the record button once again to stop.
After this, you can find the recorded footage in the Photos app of your device.
So this is how you can use the Dual Capture feature of the Camera app to record video from the front and back cameras of your iPhone 17.
This feature is available on iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
