If you feel like Safari’s Start Page is full of clutter and does not take care of your privacy, then this guide is for you. Here you will learn how you can hide the Favorites, Siri Suggestions, Reading List, and other sections from Safari’s Start page and give it a clean and minimalistic look.
Hide different Safari sections on iPhone
Step 1. Launch Safari and open a new tab.
Step 2. On the Start Page, scroll down until you get to the bottom of the page.
Step 3. Here, find and tap on the Edit button.
Step 4. Now simply turn off the toggles for any sections you don’t want to see. For example:
- Favorites: Turn this off to hide your bookmarks from showing.
- Privacy Report: Shows how many trackers Safari blocked in the last seven days.
- Reading List: Hides the reading list section from the Start Page.
- iCloud tabs: Shows tabs from your other devices.
- Suggestions: Gets rid of Apple’s suggestions based on your usage.
You can also turn off Frequently Visited Websites and Shared With You toggles here.
Here’s what Safari will look like after you have turned off all of the above toggles.
Remember, these changes will also be made on your other Apple devices. So if you have a Mac or iPad that is configured with the same Apple account as your iPhone, then these sections will also disappear from those devices.
You can prevent this from happening by turning off the ‘Use Start Page on All Devices’ toggle.
So this is how you can hide certain sections from Safari’s Start Page and make Safari clutter-free and minimal. Hiding necessary sections like iCloud Tabs and Shared With You can also boost your privacy in case you shared your devices with other people.
