Emergency SOS is a life-saving feature that allows iPhone users to contact emergency services and their families in an emergency. Users can trigger Emergency SOS manually or it can automatically trigger when their iPhone detects a crash.
While Emergency SOS is a super useful feature, you might want to turn it off due to accidental triggers or your children triggering it without your knowledge.
You can easily turn off SOS on iPhone by following the steps below.
Step 1. Open Settings and go to Emergency SOS.
Step 2. Turn off the Toggles for the following options:
- Call with Hold and Release
- Call with 5 Button Presses
- Call After Serious Crash
You can also choose to turn off one or two of these options while keeping the others enabled.
iOS does not let you completely disable the Emergency SOS feature. After turning off the above-mentioned trigger methods, you can still invoke Emergency SOS through the Power-Off screen that is accessed when you long press the Power and Volume up buttons.
These instructions can be used to disable Emergency SOS on all iPhone models. So no matter if you have an iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 or older, you can follow this guide without any issues.
iPhone can automatically contact emergency services by dialing the appropriate emergency number based on your location. It is also recommended that you set up Emergency Contacts so they can also be contacted in case you are in an emergency.
