If you’re running iOS 26 or later, then you now have access to a brand new iMessage feature called Polls.
This feature, as you would expect, lets you run polls within your iMessage groups. So you can ask your friends which restaurant you all should dine in next, among other things, in a civilised and democratic manner.
Using Polls in the Messages app
Using the new Polls feature in the iOS 26 Messages app is very easy and simple. And in this guide, we will show you how you can start using it right now.
- Start by opening the Messages app and then opening a group conversation thread.
- Once you are in a group thread, tap on the ‘+’ button located right next to the typing field.
- Next, from the menu, tap on the Polls option.
- As soon as you do this, you will get the ability to add three options. The poll will continue to expand and add you add even more options as you start typing.
- Once you are happy with your poll, just hit the Send button, and it will get delivered to your friends, who can now vote on their preferred choices.
You and others can tap on the choices to select them. Each user can select multiple choices if they like. You can even retract your vote by tapping on the option.
Remember, the Polls option will only show up if it’s a group. So a conversation thread with 2 other or more people will have polls.
That’s it, this is how you can use the Polls feature and make your group conversations more fun in the Messages app.
