When it comes to 120Hz ProMotion technology Apple has kept it limited to the Pro models of iPhone 13, however that might be changing in the upcoming generation of iPhone. According to a new report from Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu ProMotion will come as a standard feature on all iPhone 14 models.
If true, then we can expect iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 mini to also feature 120Hz ProMotion display, as opposed to the feature being limited to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max only.
With the addition of ProMotion feature across the whole lineup iPhone 14 users will be able to enjoy a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz for scrolling content, watch videos, games and more without spending extra on Pro iPhones.
In addition to talking about 120Hz display technology Pu has also claimed in the research note that iPhone 14 models will feature 6GB of RAM while the Pro models will not be getting a RAM upgrade and will still have the 6GB RAM, same as iPhone 13 Pro. Pu notes that Apple is not increasing RAM in Pro models due to cost considerations.
Corroborating with what TrendForce said a few days ago, Pu also expects iPhone 14 Pro models to feature 48-megapixel rear camera.
He also says iPhone 14 Pro models will come with a base storage of 256GB compared to the base storage of 128GB available for iPhone 13 Pro. For iPhone 14 Pu expects the base storage to be 64GB.
In other iPhone 14 Pro news, reliable analyst Ross Young claims iPhone 14 Pro models will replace the camera notch and feature a Pill + Hole cutout design for camera and Face ID component.
