Apple releases official Lightning dock for iPhone and iPod touch

When Apple discontinued using the old 30-pin connector in favor of the Lightning port, the company also stopped making iPhone docks. So for the past 3 years there hasn’t been an official Apple dock for iPhone and iPod touch. That changes today as the company has finally released a new Lightning Dock, which is now available for purchase at the Apple Store. The new iPhone Lightning Dock can be used to charge and sync any iPhone or iPod touch that sports a Lightning port. The product features the iconic white design that falls in line with design of other Apple accessories.

The iPhone Lightning Dock also features an audio line-out port that allows users to connect their iOS device with an external speaker while it is connected to the dock. You can also connect your headphones and use their remote control to control the music.

Until now users had to rely on third-party iPhone charge and sync docks, however now they have an official option as well. You can buy the iPhone Lightning Dock for $39 from online Apple Store here. The dock does not come with a USB cable, so you will have to use the one that came with your iPhone or buy one separately.
