While the company is beta testing iOS 11.4, Apple has released iOS 11.3.1 software update for all models of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If you haven’t updated already, you can now download the update by going to the Settings app or using the direct download links given below.
iOS 11.3.1 is a minor update however it brings a big fix for iPhone 8 users. With this release Apple has fixed the issue that was causing displays to stop working on devices that were repaired by unauthorized third-party repair services using non-genuine parts. The issue was caused after the devices were updated to iOS 11.3. In addition to that Apple has also introduced some security fixes for all iOS devices.
While Apple has restored the functionality on third-party replacement displays the company warns such components compromise visual quality and may fail to work correctly.
iOS 11.3.1 follows iOS 11.3, which was released last month. In iOS 11.3 Apple added several new features including new Animoji, Business Chat, Battery health Features, Health Records feature and more.
In addition to iOS 11.3.1, today Apple has also released macOS High Sierra 10.13.4. This update focuses on improving security.
