Apple’s AirPower wireless charging pad was announced back in September of last year, however the highly anticipated product hasn’t been released yet. Even today there’s no official release date given by Apple with the company’s official site just saying it will be available in 2018.
While Apple is taking its time to release the AirPower charging pad, Chinese clone manufactures have already delivered what appears to be a well made and polished product. Not only the fake AirPower looks very similar to the original product but it works as intended as well, being able to charge 3 devices at once.
Youtuber EveryThingApplePro reviewed the cloned product that came in very Apple-like packaging and looked as original as a cloned product could (except the hilarious typo on the back that read ‘Modle’ instead of Model).
According to the video the product that appeared to have been ordered directly from China costs around $30, that is significantly less than the $150-200 price tag AirPower is expected to have.
Functionally the device works similar to how Apple’s AirPower would work, you can place your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods with wireless charging case on the pad and they will all charge at once, with charging progress appearing on the iPhone. The only thing missing is the cool animation that shows up on the iPhone as demoed in Apple presentation however this might be because Apple has not added it in iOS yet.
EveryThingApplePro has not shared any links where you could buy this fake AirPower, however if you search online you should be able to find it.
