Apple’s repair costs for the new HomeView smart home hub have been revealed. As expected, the repairs will cost significantly less with AppleCare+ than without it.
According to Apple, if you have AppleCare+, you will only pay $39 repair fees for any type of damage to your HomeView, regardless if you have the tabletop model of the wall-mounted one.
However, if you decide not to purchase AppleCare+ for your HomeView, then the repairs will cost you noticeably more at $279. That’s just $20 less than the cost of a brand new HomeView, which costs $299.
Repairing HomeView is not going to be cheap if you don’t have AppleCare+, so it is a good idea to add it to your AppleCare+ plan.
Apple has also revealed AppleCare+ prices for HomeView. It will cost you $2.49 per month to add HomeView to AppleCare+ while the yearly plan costs $24.99. You can also add HomeView to AppleCare One along with your other Apple devices. That plan starts at $19.99 per month.
Is AppleCare+ Worth it for HomeView?
Apple is charging $279 to repair a damaged HomeView without AppleCare+ coverage. The same repair only costs $39 if you have an active AppleCare+ subscription.
The huge price difference makes getting AppleCare+ a no-brainer, especially if you value the extra protection and peace of mind that comes with AppleCare+. The numbers are particularly appealing because AppleCare+ costs just $24.99 per year.
