Apple has released iOS 26.7 and iPadOS 26.7 for those who are not ready to install iOS 27 yet. The update is available on all iPhone and iPad models that are on iOS 26 or lower, alongside an option to upgrade to iOS 27.
iOS 26.7, as expected, is a minor update that includes security fixes. This is not the first time Apple has released a minor update for the previous version of iOS alongside a major iOS release. Last year, Apple also released iOS 18.7 with iOS 26.
As of now, users are getting two options: they can either install iOS 26.7 on their devices or Upgrade to iOS 27 by tapping on the dedicated button under the Also Available section.
To install iOS 28 instead of iOS 26.7
If you’re interested in installing iOS 27.0, then you can tap on the Upgrade to iOS 27 button and then download and install iOS 26 over the air.
Just go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and tap on ‘Upgrade to iOS 27’. Then, finally tap on the Download and Install option.
