Apple has released iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 6 and it is now available for download. If you are a developer who is beta testing the iOS 18.1 update on his or her device, then you can now install the new release on your device.
To update your iPhone simply go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and download the update. Today’s release comes about 2 weeks after the iOS 18.1 beta 5’s release.
The build number for this release is 22B5069a. iPadOS 18.1 Beta 6 is also available to developers.
iOS 18.1 beta allows beta testers to try out Apple’s upcoming Apple Intelligence features, which will be available on iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 devices.
This includes features like Writing Tools, Clean Up, redesigned Siri, Notification Summaries, summaries for messages, and more.
Changes introduced in iOS 18.1 beta 6
- Beta 6 introduces 4 new toggles for the Control Center. This includes new toggles for AirDrop, Satellite, and Measure app’s Measure and Level toggles.
- iPhone 16’s Camera Control menu now shows a small tab along with the option that is currently in use.
- The new badge is shown on grouped notifications that tell the user how many notifications are pending for that particular app.
- A tweaked Apple Intelligence toolbar icon in the Notes app that now includes a pencil.
- The new Sleep Apnea detection feature has been added in iOS 18.1 beta 6 and watchOS 11.1 for Apple Watch models that support this feature.
- In addition to Instagram, Apple Music now lets users share music with TikTok.
- A new banner notification seen inside the Settings app tells the users that they can ask Siri for step-by-step instructions on how to change specific settings on their device.
- New splash screens for Mail, App Store, Messages, and others that highlight new features in each app.
- A change in the Wallet App’s Apple Card interface has been made. Now users can no longer see their Apple Card Savings account Balance on the Apple Card page.
- A new fading animation appears in the Dynamic Island that appears when the Camera and mic are in use.
