Apple has released the iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 updates for iPhone and iPad users. This is the first major release of iOS 26 since last month’s public release of iOS 26.
You can now head over to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and download the iOS 26 update on your device over the air. You can also use the direct IPSW download links for iOS 26.1 that we have shared below and use your computer to install the update.
What’s Changed in iOS 26.1
Unlike iOS 26.0.1, which was released late last month, iOS 26.1 is a major release and brings noticeable changes and improvements to iPhones and iPads.
Here are some of the features that Apple has introduced with iOS 26.1.
- iOS 26.1 adds a new Tinted option for Liquid Glass design that makes it look opaque. You can find the new option under Display & Brightness settings.
- Alarms and timers get a new Slide to Stop screen, which allows users to stop an alarm with a slide gesture. This makes it harder for users to accidentally turn off their alarms at night.
- 8 new languages have been added to Apple Intelligence. This includes Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
- AirPods Live Translation also adds support for 5 new languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.
- Apple Music app gets a new swipe gesture that lets you quickly switch between songs.
